Beautiful Sunday morning! ā˜€ļø I hope you make time to pray todayā€” I mean really pray ā€”-seek quiet time and sit with God this morning-donā€™t rush past Him like Heā€™s a transient passerby, but stop and welcome Him in for tea, coffeeā€”and sit & talk with Him. See Himā€” because Heā€™s everywhereā€” Listen to Him because He speaks to your innermost parts. Take time this morning to ā€”prayā€”praise, and position yourself in preparation for the new week ahead.

What Was Once Before Shall Be Againā€¦

  W hile navigating the many vicissitudes of womanhoodā€¦ I often think of my mom and her sistersā€¦ and their mom (granny). My mother was born in February 1922ā€“and in January 1922ā€“ā€œThe Dyer Anti-Lynching Bill, the first of its kind, passes the U.S. House of Representatives in part due to the efforts of the NAACP.ā€ She birthed me in 1964 when Dr. King was leading the cause for Civil Rights. Just a bit of triviaā€¦ In Decemberā€™64 the month/year of my birthā€”ā€œhe made a stop in London for three days to preach at St. Paul's Cathedral and meet with leaders of the peace community.ā€       B ut prior toā€”and therein my motherā€”her motherā€”her sisters were Black women in an era when mostly all the freedoms, access and privileges that we enjoy(ed) today was denied them. But they somehow could see a brighter futureā€”from where they beganā€”and forge ahead with that hope. S omeone will ask me this at least 2-3xs a yearā€¦ So, thought Iā€™d share a couple of the books that carried me through 2024ā€“a couple will stay in rotation. Seemingly having no correlation with the otherā€”but amazingly weaved together ā€”and resided overā€”nurtured ā€”and enveloped my heart, mind, soulā€”spiritā€”and bodyā€”this year like a  combination of 1000 thread count sheetā€”pillowsā€”and comforterā€”like ā€œThe Comforter.ā€ And for those of you that know that feelingā€”you know.
