I  awakened to the news that Donald Trump won the presidency— Oh! that actually happened already didn’t it! Or maybe it’s prophetic... so prepare your stomachs now... U p at 4:30 awakened by the revelation that a revolution has been thwarted,  actually botched.    M any years ago I read the book, “ 40 Million Dollar   Slaves”,  by William C. Rhoden, and though I wasn’t feeling the title I was pulled into its  allure, but that was the trick. The marketing strategy. Otherwise, juxtaposing  40 Million dollar salaries of Athletes to “slavery” felt abhorrently offensive to me. But the message was more. The message was what we see happening today. It was at least one of the takeaways for me.  Nevertheless, today roughly 4 years to the date, since Colin Kaepernick was ousted from the NFL for taking a courageous, powerful  necessary stance on social injustice and the strategic genocide of Black Men and boys in the street, or in their h...

       I  have this quote, “Seek God Early.” 🕊🙏🏾🌹 Actually, it’s not  my  quote, it’s scripture. “God;  Early  will I  seek  You” (Psalm 63:1a, NKJV).”             S o that’s where I get it from. But my point to bringing this up today is  perspective ... yes the way or ways in which we choose or are prone to see something. For me, seeking God “early” usually meant very early in the twilight hours... somewhere right between darkness and daylight because oftentimes, (most times) that’s when I would arise from bed. 4:30ish... pre-pandemic.        N evertheless, now after being held in-place for nearing six months,  my  perspective , not only  early  has changed, but consequently, “seeking God early” has shifted as well. Now seeking Him before I do anything else... anything! Before I make coffee, before I eat breakfast (especially before break-fast) beca...

  At  any given time that “thing” whatever it is is going to mend. ... your broken-heart, your worst job, your brutal struggles through tough circumstances. Whatever that “thing” is. And the key derivative to mend is m-END.       S o, hang on... Especially WHEN YOU DONT FEEL LIKE IT.. sing, dance, read, learn, teach, form new mind-behaviors and habitats... think on new things—good, loving things. Form new life and health habits. Ride a bike, form your own exercise workout, start a small business, start journaling... do it anyway. And look yourself in the mirror, and say, “Hey! I love you!” Grab your collar and say, “You’ve got this! ”        D o these things without ceasing, and I promise you... one day it’s all going to be better. You will survive this!

                     I heard someone say recently, “We  (you) have to stop reacting as if you are not spirit and respond as you are—because you are .” You occupy a fleshly body, but you are not flesh. How many times have you heard that? You are a Spirit and spiritual being... when God said, “ Let’s make them in “our” image, many people miss the “OUR” and consequently miss the sum total of their existence. ~Genesis 1:26~            H ow many of us have misunderstood this scripture to mean our fleshly, body, exterior image is the “image” of God? I sure had... but no more. I told you before, I am awakened to a spiritual epiphany...            W ho are the “Us” and “Our” in this scripture? They are Angels... Spiritual creatures. We are operating in this earthly realm far below our heavenly and spiritual privilege. I know, I did... but no more.  The entire scripture...

  I have this thing that I do ... I say, “thank you” a lot to the same person for the same thing... I remember when it started. I was a child. I lived in my home on 4th and Jeffrey street in Chester, Pa with my aunt and grandmom with a cyclical presence of my cousins Pat and Donna, and uncles. And there was always a reason to say, “Thank you.” Someone was always doing something for me, buying me something, taking me somewhere, even cooking me something... all the time! Consequently,  I was seemingly always saying, “Thank you.” And I would repeat it because 1(one)  “thank you” never seemed enough—it never seemed substantial enough to seal the deal of my gratitude for whatever they did for me, because oddly, I never felt I deserved it.   M y   present day reality is that like Paul, a disciple of Jesus, I would have you understand that the things which happen (ed) to me are for the furtherance of the gospel [Philippians 1:12] and yet you may start to see me as odd or     “differently”, “different” — just not the same . Growth in the presence of absence sounds to be quite the oxymoron... feels like it too.  But it’s the work that has to be done when the Love of God becomes the desire of one’s heart. When we arrive at the place when His desires have become our own— there’s no turning back.
